What is a mail?

Going into the past before the times when we had mobile phones or telephones, we would have post office where we can send mails to others or simply send posts to others. To send a mail all we have to get is the adddress of the receiver of the mail and some money. You go to a post office and fill all the necessary details on the mail and mail it and the receiver should have to wait for some days to receive that mail.

Later we replaced this big address with a ten digit number and the time for delivery reduced to the order of seconds. This system was called as Telephones which could be used directly from our homes and later still developed to mobile phones which can be used directly from our pockets. The only thing necessary is to know the number of the person we want to call. This system decreased the delay in reaching the receiver but only your voice can be transferred but no image or video. 

We created a great facility for ourselves in our cyber world known as email system. As the name itself says electronic mail meaning data sent through electronics. This email system can not only send our voice but also our images videos and many other files. As in the case of mobiles emailing also takes very few seconds to reach the receiver. All it needs is an email address which itself states that it is address where an email to be sent. 

In this cyber world we need this email address to be contacted by any other person. So first thing to start is getting an email address. Google is a company which provides almost all the basic needs of the online world users. It also has set up a very nice facility for emailing known as Gmail. Gmail will give you an own address known as Gmail address which can be used to contact you. Gmail gives you a feature to send about 25MB file through an email as attachment. It also gives you a storage facility of around 5GB to store all your received files or your files.

How to get an email address?

1. Go to www.gmail.com.
2. Click on the Sign up button there.
3. Fill in the form.
4. Check whether the email address you want is available or not.
5. If available then check all the information for any corrections.
6. Then submit it and that's it you set up your email account, just give all persons you know your email address to contact you.
